“Something special happens here that you can’t
believe until you see it with your own eyes.”
"When I became a parent, and even more so as a single parent, I knew
that I would need to rely on other adults to influence and role model
for my girls, the kind of individuals that I hoped for them to be. In
todays society it's not always easy to find these role models that not
only teach, but also show, respect, confidence, acceptance, trust,
communication and compassion. When we walked in to Martial Arts America
we hit the jackpot. Not only did the instructors have the characteristics
and personalities that I was searching for, they have provided even more
for my daughters. They provide an environment that is unconditional and full
of energy. This has allowed my girls to develop a level of confidence and
self-esteem that is so exciting to watch. I couldn't ask for more. As a parent
and social worker I know that it only takes one important adult to make a difference
in a child's life. At Martial Arts America you can be assured that your child
will have more than one adult that impacts them in a positive way."

"Friend’s and colleagues frequently ask me why I’m in karate. I first need to correct their
misconceptions about doing karate to take out my frustrations or to become the next Chuck Norris.
Actually, it was unintentional that I even began taking karate. My wife and I noticed behavioral
and confidence problems with our son Jimmy and thought that Martial Arts might help him change
his excessive energy and improve his focus and sense of accomplishment. In fact we did see a
noticeable difference in Jimmy, and he really enjoyed the classes. While watching classes one
day, I was approached by Mr. Nicklaus about trying karate myself. I was intrigued whether karate
could help me and thought I would give it a try. It’s been a year now, and I can point out to people
how karate has improved my ability to focus on the task at hand, challenge myself beyond the artificial
physical and mental limits we impose on ourselves. Karate stresses respect of self and others.
Other benefits of karate for me have been improved fitness, flexibility, and feeling of accomplishment.
Finally, karate has strengthened my bond with Jimmy and my daughter who is also now in the program."

“I make sacrifices to have my son here. I believe that my sacrifices are well rewarded.
I’ve seen significant changes in my son’s confidence and willingness to try new things.
I’m a teacher and I know it’s tough to reach all kids. These people have a way with
kids that really works.”

“As parents we can’t do it all. My husband and I want our kids to be focused, committed,
and respectful. We work on these things as a family. Our kids are learning these skills
at Nicklaus’ Martial Arts America. We like the fact that they’re doing exercise and
learning valuable safety skills, but it’s much more than that. It’s about being their
best. We feel that the program is so valuable for our kids that we drive from Caledonia,
Minnesota”

“We’ve heard people say this program is too expensive. We believe that you get what you
pay for. This program has helped my son become a better athlete and a disciplined,
respectful young man.”
